Guyanese Scholar To Head University Of Belize

The Government of Belize has selected Guyanese national Dr. Cary Fraser to head the state controlled University of Belize. Dr. Fraser is the second Guyanese national to be appointed to a high post by the Belize government in the past week. Belize’s new Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin is also a Guyanese national.


Gregory Isaacs

Gregory Isaacs is dead at 59. Gregory Isaacs died Monday October 25, 2010 at home in London after battling liver cancer; Isaacs’ death was confirmed by representatives today. It is reported that Issacs’ liver cancer had spread in recent months. Isaacs is survived by a wife and children.
