Guyana's Own Erica Sember Releases Her Second Single "Mean It”

Erica Sember

Guyanese-born singer/songwriter Erica Sember landed on the scene last year with the release of her debut single “Trust Me”, Sember introduced herself to the tune of a chilled-out R’n’B cut reminiscent of 2000’s era Jhene Aiko. Albeit, this year the young songstress is adamantly embarking on a path that hopes to capture a global audience within the multiplicity of her sound. Thus, her upcoming sophomore offering “Mean It” boasts the best elements of Blues and Disco that you’d easily find on a Jenevieve record. Not only this, in lieu of Sember’s time spent frequenting East London’s Pirate Studios over the past year to work with producer Oshow Davis, she’s garnered a dynamic selection of unreleased tracks that draw sonic cues from genres such as House, Pop, Jazz and Soul; and with this unreleased discography feels readily prepared to take the UK scene by storm on her own watch.

Creatively focused on the healing power of music, Sember is a vocalist who always approaches the art form with a mission to sonically build upon, or remedy, her audiences’ subjective feelings. Thus, her musical prerogative stems from wanting to help people open up and not feel so alone in a space that acknowledges the discourse between a hyper-connected world that feels increasingly closed-off and isolated. With her sights set on giving her debut EP to the world before years’ end, Erica Sember is poised to show a future-forward audience the musical magic she’s truly made of.
