As the world struggles with the coronavirus and the infection and death rates climb, statistically Guyanese in Guyana appear to fare much better than those in New York City (NYC).

As of April 13, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States reported over 22,000 deaths.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection earlier today began enhanced passenger processing protocols at JFK International Airport in New York for passengers entering the United States who have traveled from or through the Ebola-affected countries of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.  This is being done in coordination with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
