At the age of fifteen she became the voice of the regional theme song for the Caribbean event, Carifesta. At sixteen years old she graduated from The North Georgetown Secondary school as a Student of Excellence.

At seventeen Lisa released her first reggae single called Secret Admirer and subsequently One Last Time, My Inspiration, How We Party, and Wickedee featuring Malcom, All I need featuring Mystic, Wipe Those Tears, Stars Align, etc.

In June 2014, shortly after moving to the United States with her family, Lisa became a contestant on ABC’s new singing show Rising Star, making it to the top 30 out of 40,000 auditions.

Lisa was the second act of the evening on the recent premier of the show Rising Star show hosted by Josh Groban and judges, Kesha, Ludacris, and Brad Paisley. In conversation with host Josh Groban she said that she was sharing a 2 bedroom apartment with 12 other family members.

Lisa sang How Will I Know and had the audience clapping along as she sang. Many of them stood up and clapped and Lisa easily surpassed the qualifying 70 percent mark, actually reaching 80 percent.

Ludacris said “she made her momma proud” and “everyone in Guyana proud.”

Brad told her “you’re not only going to get a new place to live, you’re going to get a tour bus.”

Kesha said “I loved your attitude and I had so much fun watching you, and I’d love to watch you more.”

In a recent interview Lisa said "Guyana is a very beautiful country, and it’s also a poor country. The reason we moved to America is because our grandmother wanted a better life for us. My grandmother, she is an American citizen, she applied for a green card for the family it took seven years, but nevertheless we’re here, we’re very excited to be here."
