Lottie Helena Bobb was born on September 16, 1897 to Malachi and Margaret Bobb of Christianburg, Demerara River. She attended the Christianburg Scott School and then Christianburg High School. She married Joseph Oscar Rodney in June 1923
Mrs Rodney then became a teacher. She later moved to Georgetown and trained and worked as a midwife at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
She was the mother of Viota, Beulah, Sheila, Shirley and Ovid, grandmother of Pauline, Maxim (Paul), Wencelas, Gefford, Rozamond, Raymond, Avril, Gordon, Annetha, Christopher, Gregory, Julian, Carol, Allan, Simone, Sharon and Troy. great-grandmother of twenty-five; the great-great-grandmother of one.
