As a member of Guyanese United, an international organization part of whose mission is to highlight the concerns of Guyanese both locally and in the Diaspora, and present the matter to the appropriate authority, I am delighted by the Hon. Minister Mr. David Patterson who took time out of his busy schedule to respond to a concern by a citizen who highlighted the deplorable condition of a roadway in the Matthews Ridge area.
Ms. Doreen Clarke posted in our Facebook Group,
"Please view this everyone this is how individuals in the Matthews Ridge inter lands area suffer to have their produce transported from one area to another my brother have personally used his money to fix this road but now he would like for the Guyana government to play their part because a it has been over 24 years they have been living in this perilous condition"
I sent Minister Patterson a private message and he responded:
"Sums have been allocated in the 2016 Budget which will be announced on Friday (January 29, 2016) for this road"
This is a good example of a responsive government in action. We look forward to seeing this level of responsiveness continue and increase.
