Real Nasty - World Environment Day 2013, Guyanese Style - By RealGuyana

Real Nasty - Light Street, Georgetown Guyana 2013

As our president and other officials took turns at the Yumana Yana yesterday to talk about the environment, this is what's going on outside. Guyana is fast becoming an environmental hazard itself; anywhere there is human activity you will find no regulation, an impotent EPA, an incompetent Mayor and City Council or Neighborhood Democratic Council as the case may be. Georgetown was once called the Garden City; as you can see it's now the Garbage City and the only thing you won't get in this video is the stench of filth many of our noses have become accustomed to. This is what you get when the government drag its heels on Local Government Elections for two decades. We need people with a heart and an environmental conscience to take charge of affairs, not political stooges and puppets who sit by and wait for our children to catch some disease or other from the sewage filled drains.
