During September 2015 when Venezuela flexed its military muscles near the border with Guyana, that country’s military patrol boats blatantly breached Guyana’s sovereignty by traversing the Cuyuni River at locations between its junctions with the Acarabisi River (to the east) and the Wenamu River (to the west).

Passengers aboard a Dynamic International Airways flight 405 was safely evacuated after a fire that appeared to have originated in the vicinity of the left engine. The aircraft, a Boeing 767 was taxing for take off on a scheduled flight to Caracas Venezuela was safely brought to a stop and passengers exited via the emergency slides.
