PNCR General Secretary shot in his home by bandits - People’s National Congress Reform Press Release

The General Secretary of the People’s National Congress Reform, Mr. Oscar Clarke was, tonight at about 8:45 pm, attacked by bandits as he entered his home. Mr. Clarke has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and is currently in a stable condition.

This incident is another example of the precarious crime situation which is facing Guyana at the moment.

Attorney-General (AG) Mr. Anil Nandlal hastily withdrew from the case he had filed against Brigadier David Granger, Leader of the Opposition and Mr. Raphael Trotman, Speaker of the National Assembly.

The AG, on the 3rd December 2012, filed a Notice of withdrawal and discontinuance in the High Court of the Supreme Court in Action No. 69/CM of 2012.
