So much has been said about the life of my beloved father Terence Ormonde since January 8th, 2014 when on 73, the umpire gave him out. This time, unlike October 2011, when he asked for a review from the umpire’s decision to the third umpire and had that decision reversed, there was no appeal.

Renowned Guyanese radio broadcaster, Terrence Ormonde Holder died earlier today at the age of 73 after an extended period of illness.

Holder began his broadcasting career at Guyana Broadcasting Service (GBS) in the 1960s. He became senior producer, then General Manager of the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation in the 1990s

Stewart Stevenson, popular figure in the Guyana motor racing circles has died.

Frank Stewart Stevenson, former motor racing champion and well known figure in motor sports in Guyana, died on New Year’s Day in a hospital in Miami.

Stewart, born on November 22, 1953 and was an iconic figure in motor racing in the 1970s wining numerous trophies.

He will be surely missed by all.

Iris Ramgadoo was born on February 10, 1922 in Plantation Albion, Corentyne, Guyana. Her father was Rajaram (also known as Basil Madhoo) and her mother was Parkalia (also known as Sarah). Her father came from India in 1894 to Guyana at the age of two with his mother Usafy Shanker.
