The PPP’s "Scorched Earth" Approach to the 2015 Elections
As the election gets closer the war of words from the leaders of the PPP seem to get more crass.
The most recent tirade was from the minister of health Bheri Ramsarran to a female who had made a rebuttal to one of his statements while in a public meeting.

He graduated from DeWitt Clinton H.S. As a teenager, John was smitten by a beautiful young lady, Mable Carter. The couple married in 1964. They had 4 daughters, Robin, Jill, Melody, and Renee.
Carter Center Launches International Election Observation Mission in Guyana
GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — The Carter Center has launched an international election observation mission for Guyana's May 11 elections at the invitation of the government of Guyana.
The core team of experts will be joined this week by six medium-term observers, together representing nine countries. The Center's observers will meet regularly with representatives of the Guyana Elections Commission, political party candidates, civil society organizations, the international community, and citizen election observers to assess electoral preparations and the pre-electoral environment, including election administration, campaigning, voter education, and other issues.

The Guyanese Spring
Spring appears to be in the air in Guyana. Not the spring of the northern climates ushering in warmer weather and a greening of the landscape, and not the “Arab Spring” with its attendant violence. Spring in Guyana is defined by the unification of the opposition leaders and through that unity, the revival of the Guyanese vision of a better future of peace, harmony and prosperity for all Guyanese now, and in the future.
