Real Guyana

If you're still arguing about what L.F.S Burnham did to Guyana and the state the PNC government left the country in 20years ago then this is for you. The Rescinding of the Oliver Tambo Award to Forbes Burnham - By Dr. Kean Gibson

I am a Guyanese who has lived and worked in the Caribbean – Guyana, Jamaica and Barbados - and I was very surprised by Professor Horace Campbell’s request for the Oliver Tambor award not to be given to Forbes Burnham because the latter allegedly assassinated Walter Rodney. It appears that the South African government has given credence to this allegation and the award was not given.

Georgetown, Guyana, Monday 29th April 2013 - A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) extends greetings of solidarity to the workers of Guyana and their Unions on the observance of Labour Day 2013.

As our workers go about their various activities, in observance of Labour Day 2013, they are patently aware that the recently passed 2013 National Budget makes no provision for any increases in their wages and salaries and seeks to confirm them on the poverty line.

A history lesson or a lesson about history

History

History - If you weren't a witness to the event, you can only regurgitate someone else’s opinion. Simply because the story gets repeated, doesn’t make it a fact.

Political Lesson - Five Points

Lesson One: The people are responsible for the leader they elect.

Lesson Two: The rigging of an election cannot be accomplished by the leader alone; it is in collaboration with those who are complicit.
